§ Michael McNair-WilsonMr. asked the Prime Minister what general directions have been issued to other 227W Government Departments about using the commercial insurance market following its use by the Ministry of Defence.
§ The Prime MinisterNone. The use of the commercial insurance market by the Ministry of Defence from 1 April 1982 is experimental and is restricted to motor accident and employer's liability claims, as announced by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Defence Procurement in his written reply on 5 March. [Vol. 19, c.245.] It is our intention to await practical experience of these arrangements before considering any extension of them.
