§ Mr. ButcherBritish Telecom valued its fixed assets in communications equipment at £7,000 million on 31 March 1981 and it invested nearly £1,500 million in such equipment in the immediately preceding year. The BT accounts for 1981–82 are likely to show that a further substantial sum was invested in that year.
