HC Deb 08 June 1982 vol 25 c23W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether there are plans to dump radioactive waste anywhere outside the approved dumping ground 500 miles south-west of Land's End in the Atlantic during the current year's scheduled dump.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

I have no plans to issue a licence under the Dumping at Sea Act 1974 to dispose of any radioactive waste outside the internationally recognised Atlantic site.

Mr. Skinner

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether there are plans to use more than one vessel for the current year's scheduled dump of radioactive waste in the Atlantic.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

I understand that the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, which is organising this year's proposed operation to dump radioactive waste in the Atlantic, has no such plans.
