§ Mr. David Youngasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what consultation procedure with disabled organisations is followed as to access to toilet and other facilities for which his Department is responsible.
§ Sir George YoungIn providing new Crown buildings, the PSA's policy is to afford facilities for disabled members of staff and of the public comparable to those set out in BS 5810:1979 where it is reasonable and practicable to do so. There is no formal procedure for consulting organisations representing disabled people about individual buildings. There is, however, consultation with occupying Departments about the needs of users. The PSA is always ready to consider comments from organisations representing disabled people about problems at specific buildings.
