§ Mr. Prescottasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will give a breakdown of the age and duration of unemployment in the Hull travel-to-work area, the total and percentage for the month of June 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982, and the vacancies available then.
§ Mr. AlisonTable 1 gives the age and duration analysis of registered unemployment in the Hull travel-to-work area at 15 April 1982, the latest date for which the information is available.
Table 2 gives the total numbers and percentage rates of unemployment and the numbers of notified vacancies remaining unfilled at June each year from 1978.
765WThe vacancy statistics relate only to vacancies notified to employment offices and careers offices; vacancies notified to employment offices are estimated to be about one-third of all vacancies in the country as a whole. Because of possible duplication the figures for employment offices and careers offices should not be added together.
