§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThe following is the information requested in respect of import levies for the United Kingdom as at 26 July 1982:
727W* Conversion from European currency units into sterling has been made using the representative rate IECU = £0.618655, and multiplying the resultant figure by the current Monetary Co-efficient of 0.904.
† Currently, monetary compensatory amounts act as a levy on imports.
‡ There is a special rate for New Zealand butter.
≑ There is a reduced levy for certain products imported from Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
¶ Does not include a supplementary levy which at present applies only to imports from German Democratic Republic and Finland.
• Does not include a supplementary levy which at present applies only to imports from Spain and Czechoslovakia.
