HC Deb 30 July 1982 vol 28 cc756-7W
Sir Bernard Braine

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what action is being taken by the Health and Safety Executive to deal with the threat to public health and safety posed by Continental road tankers entering the United Kingdom with unidentified and unmarked hazardous loads.

Mr. Waddington

The Health and Safety Executive is making further inquiries into the information obtained in a survey carried out by Essex county council last year. At this stage it has no evidence, either from this report, or from other sources, that tankers entering the United Kingdom from the Continent are carrying unidentifiable or unmarked hazardous loads.
