HC Deb 30 July 1982 vol 28 c867W
Mr. Heddle

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will set up a committee with the same terms of reference as the Turner committee of 1949 to investigate coal mining subsidence and compensation therefor.

Mr. John Moore

The Government are already giving very careful consideration to the recommendations on subsidence and related compensation made in the comprehensive report by the commission on energy and the environment last year on "Coal and the Environment". The Government intends to respond as constructively as possible to all those recommendations.
