§ Mr. Duffyasked the Secretary of State for Industry when he expects to announce a conclusion to current talks between his Department and steel firms on the joint venture Phoenix II.
§ Mr. ButcherBSC and GKN announced earlier this year the suspension, subject to any change in market conditions, of talks on the proposed Phoenix II joint venture for the manufacture of engineering steels. The Department has been involved in no discussions on Phoenix II since that date.
