§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, in the light of Social Security Commissioners' decision C.M.2/82, he will amend the guidance issued to medical practitioners to make it clear that someone who, when walking has to be controlled and guided, is eligible for mobility allowance.
§ Mr. RossiNo. This is one of a number of decisions which have cast doubt on the effect of the present law. The commissioner is looking for a case to be heard before a tribunal of commissioners to see if it is possible to resolve this doubt. We will review the guidance thereafter.
