§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Industry what has been the level of aid to the United Kingdom textile industry given by the European Economic Community since 1980.
§ Mr. MacGregorIn 1981 £1.96 million was allocated to United Kingdom retraining and resettlement schemes under the part of the European social fund reserved for textile and clothing workers. The fund also paid £120,000 to textile companies as a matching contribution in respect of training schemes receiving assistance under section 7 of the Industry Act 1972.
