HC Deb 28 July 1982 vol 28 c581W
31. Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he has had arising from the Rayner report on the employment service dealing with jobcentres as it affects the parliamentary constituency of Midlothian.

Mr. Alexander Fletcher

None. The Manpower Services Commission has been considering the report, which it published last month and on which it invited comments and is expected to report its conclusions to Ministers shortly. If the recommendation that a number of jobcentres should be reviewed between now and 1984 is accepted, I am sure that the commission will provide adequate opportunity for interested parties locally to make their views known before decisions are taken.
