§ Mr. Eggarasked the Secretary of State for Energy whether a management information and accounting system is in use in his Department; whether the information adduced is received and analysed at ministerial level; whether it is publicly available; and whether any changes are proposed in the coming year.
§ Mr. LawsonI have this year introduced a formalised and comprehensive management information system appropriate to the size and structure of my Department. The information is at present in the final stages of being assembled and computerised. I expect to receive this and a report analysing it shortly and intend to make the basic data publicly available. Next year's exercise will build on the experience of this year and some changes are therefore to be expected.
