§ Mr. BrittanThe increase in the retail prices index for August in 1979, 1980 and 1981 compared with a year earlier was 15.8 per cent., 16.3 per cent. and 11.5 per cent. respectively. The increase compared with the previous month was 0.8 per cent., 0.2 per cent. and 0.7 per cent. in each case respectively.
