§ Mr. Hardyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he received any communication from the European Commission reminding him of his failure to submit lists of protected habitats as required by article 4(iii) of directive 79/409 on the conservation of wild birds and by the accompanying resolution.

§ Mr. MacfarlaneRepresentations specifically about the directive have been made by the International Council for Bird Preservation and by a noble Lord. Representations have also been made about the bringing into operation of part I of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which will implement part of the directive.
