§ Mr. EyreThe provision of public weighbridges is a matter for the local authorities. We are taking steps to encourage the use by private transport operators, where practicable, of my Department's enforcement weighbridges. The intention is to make arrangements at selected sites, using self-weighing equipment of the kind which is currently in operation at Poole docks.
