HC Deb 26 July 1982 vol 28 c378W
Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the average number of patients treated per full-time dental officer in the school dental service in the most recent year for which figures are available; and what was the comparable figure for the area covered by the Staffordshire area health authority.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

The average number of patients treated per full-time dental officer in the school dental service in England in 1980 was 907. The comparable figure for the area of the former Staffordshire area health authority was 979.

The dental officers concerned spent some of their time treating patients other than in the school dental service.
