§ Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement about the future role of Operation Countryman in the light of the convictions of Detective Superintendent Cuthbert and John Golbourn at the Old Bailey on 22 July.
§ Mr. MayhewThe position as we understand it at present is that a small number of inquiries remain outstanding and it is possible that further proceedings may arise from them. Unless fresh relevant matter comes to light, however, the operation will in the normal course cease when these inquiries have been completed.
