§ 18. Mr. Cadburyasked the Secretary of State for Energy what recent representations he has had from the 370W Chemical Industries Association and other intensive energy users about the continuing comparative high cost of electricity in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. MellorI have received a number of such representations. Over 100 large industrial users of electricity have now taken up the new load management terms announced in the last Budget. Many of them will see, as a result, no increase in their electricity charges this year, and about one-third of the total benefit will go to companies in the chemical industry.
