Results are given for all English rating authorities—that is, non-metropolitan districts, metropolitan districts, London boroughs and the Isles of Scilly.
The expenditure data comprise net revenue expenditure of the districts-boroughs borne by rates, grants and balances. They cannot be compared directly with the yield of the domestic rate which includes rates levied on behalf of precepting authorities—non-metropolitan counties, metropolitan counties, GLC, ILEA, and the Metropolitan Police Authority.
