§ Mr. HurdThe Commission spent a total of £9,660 million in 1981—17,485 million ecu converted at 1.81 ecu to the pound, the average exchange rate for 1981. The 1982 budget contains provision of about £6.4 million for information—12.25 million ecu at 1.91 ecu to the pound, the 1982 budget rate. The costs of Commission offices related to information activities are not separately identifiable, nor is the amount of expenditure on activities related to the United Kingdom.
