§ 32. Mr. Proctorasked the Minister of State for Trade which interested parties have been approached by his Department with regard to the creation of free ports; and what responses he has received from them.
§ Mr. SproatAs I said in my reply to my hon. Friend on 6 July, we have had useful discussions with Members of Parliament, local government authorities, airport management and industrial organisations. In particular, we have followed up an approach by the Institute of Directors with a request for comments from the industrialists' point of view on any advantages which a freeport might offer. We have recently received these comments which are under consideration.
