§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will consider introducing legislation to provide concessionary rates of travel to those caring for an elderly, handicapped or disabled dependant who has been certified as unfit to travel alone.
§ Mr. EyreLocal authorities have powers to provide concessionary fares for elderly, blind and physically disabled people, but not their companions. At present, I am not aware that this causes any significant difficulty or hardship, or limits the transport facilities which operators may provide.
