§ Mr. Charles R. Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Industry which groups and grades in the public sector for which he has ministerial responsibility have so far settled at 4 per cent. or less in the current 1981–82 pay round.
§ Mr. ButcherPay increases in nationalised industries are a matter for their respective boards.
Workers in the other public sector bodies for which I have responsibility are paid by analogy with Civil Service grades. They have, therefore, received increases in basic pay ranging from 4.75 per cent. to 6.25 per cent., with an average increase of 5.9 per cent.
