§ Mr. RidleyThe total yield of income tax in 1981–82, the latest year for which figures are available, was £28,722 million. The estimated cost of collection for that year is not yet available. However, for 1980–81 the total yield of income tax was £24,295 million and the estimated cost of collection was £572 million.
