How many persons have been served with exclusion orders under the Prevention of Terrorism Act 1976 in each of the last three years for which figures are available (and in any subsequent period); and in each period how many persons have been excluded (a) from Northern Ireland and (b) from England, Scotland and Wales.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord Elton)The information requested on exclusion orders made in Great Britain under the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Acts 1974 and 1976 is published quarterly in Home Office Statistical Bulletins, copies of which are placed in the Library of the House. The numbers of persons made the subject of exclusion orders in Northern Ireland were four in 1979, three in 1980, and eleven in 1981; of these, all but one, whose order was made in 1981 and was later revoked, were excluded from the United Kingdom.
