§ Mr. Les Huckfieldasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether, following his announcement of derelict land clearance area status for the Nuneaton and Bedworth area on Monday 28 June, he will give details of financial assistance available within the area, together with information about further assistance for which local authorities, developers and industrialists now qualify.
§ Mr. MacGregorAssistance under many national industrial support schemes is already available to firms in the Nuneaton and Bedworth area. Further details are available to firms on request from my Department's West Midlands regional office. From 1 August this year the local authorities in the Nuneaton and Bedworth employment office areas will be eligible for 100 per cent. derelict land clearance grant for expenditure on approved schemes. Other applicants in the area will be eligible for such grants at the rate of 80 per cent.
