asked the Secretary of State for Employment what are the latest figures he has for the percentage rate of unemployment in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States of America and Canada.

The latest available seasonally adjusted standardised unemployment rates estimated by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development—OECD—are as follows:

France (May) 8.5
Germany (April) 5.9
Italy (January) 9.1
Japan (April) 2.4
United States of America (May) 9.3
Canada (May) 10.1
