HC Deb 05 July 1982 vol 27 c33W
Mr. Coleman

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the cost of engaging consultants to fill the vacancy of chairman of the Welsh Development Agency; and whether persons now serving in the Welsh Office are excluded from applying.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

It has been the practice of successive Governments not to disclose details of the arrangements made with management consultants on grounds of commercial confidentiality.

We are anxious to select the new chairman from as wide and good a field as possible, and there is no restriction on the freedom of Welsh Office staff to apply for this post.
