§ Mr. Donald Stewartasked the Prime Minister if she will seek to change the electoral system in the United Kingdom so that the identity of specific voters can no longer be ascertained.
§ The Prime MinisterMarked copies of the electoral register, showing which electors exercised their right to vote at a particular election, are available for public inspection to help safeguard against malpractice. The identity of the candidate for whom a voter voted can be ascertained only in certain circumstances, through a court order or, for parliamentary elections, an order of the House. I have no present plans to change these arrangements.
