Information on the net changes in employment levels is best obtained from the estimates of the number of employees in employment compiled by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment and published on a regular basis in theEmployment Gazette. The latest figures relate to the quarter ending September 1981 and indicate in the preceeding 12 months the number of employees in employment in Wales fell by 60, 000.
