HC Deb 26 January 1982 vol 16 c315W
Mr. Prescott

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what were his reasons for not including a British trade union among the bodies consulted during the preparation of his Department's report on standby vessels offshore; and if he will take steps to ensure that unions are consulted fully in the preparation of any future reports on offshore safety.

Mr. Gray

The report was prepared for discussion, not as a definitive document. It has been submitted to the Health and Safety Executive's oil industry advisory committee, which includes strong union representation.

Appropriate employees organisations will be consulted during preparation of any future reports on the safety, health and welfare of workers.
