§ Mr. Pawseyasked the Attorney-General if he has any proposals that he intends to bring forward during the lifetime of the present Parliament for a reform of the divorce laws.
The Solicitor-GeneralWhen an opportunity occurs, the Government intend to bring forward legislation to 323W implement the recommendations for amendment of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973, which are summarised in paragraph 46(5) and (6) of the report of the Law Commission on the financial consequences of divorce—Law Com. No. 112—which was laid before Parliament on 14 December 1981. Further reports from the Law Commission on other aspects of divorce law are in preparation and will be considered when they are received.
