§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement regarding his discussions with Lambeth council and community leaders on 18 January on the issue of improved consultation between police and the community in the London borough of Lambeth.
§ Mr. RaisonThe meeting on 18 January was in our view a very useful first step and we were encouraged by the general desire on the part of those concerned to see arrangements for future consultation between the police and the community in the borough urgently developed. We propose to hold another meeting with those concerned next week. Meanwhile our officials will be holding a working level meeting this week.
