§ Mr. Humphrey AtkinsThere are about, 4, 000 hospital beds for the mentally ill; a further 2, 500 are planned by 1990. The Hong Kong authorities aim to integrate the mentally handicapped within the community and develop their capabilities to the fullest extent; it is planned by 1990 to increase by some 6, 000 the number of places for those requiring residential or other special care.
