HL Deb 19 January 1982 vol 426 c602WA
Lord Jenkins of Putney

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether trains carrying nuclear weapons travel through London via Clapham Junction.

Viscount Trenchard

It has been the long-standing policy of successive Governments neither to confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons at particular locations, nor, for obvious security reasons, to comment on the methods and routes used to transport them. The handling of nuclear weapons is designed to avoid any risk to the public.
