§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what further representations he has received from local authorities in Scotland which are scheduled to lose assisted area status in August 1982; and whether he proposes to take action on these representations.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherOver the past 18 months my right hon. Friend has received representations from 20 local authorities whose areas are affected by the changes in assisted area status due to take effect on 1 August 1982. These will be taken fully into account in the Government's review of those areas which are due to lose their assisted area status as a result of being downgraded by more than one step.
