asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will provide a region by region analysis of the number of beds available to the traumatic and orthopaedic specialty in the National Health Service: and if he will give these figures for the years 1970 to 1980, inclusive.

The numbers are shown in the following table:

unemployed people would qualify where they are not currently eligible for supplementary benefit because their resources exceed their requirements, as assessed on the ordinary scale rate, but would not exceed their requirements measured against the long-term rate.
