§ Mr. WaldegraveThe information requested is not collected by my Department. However, in the 1979–80 academic year local education authorities in England and Wales granted 46,758 full value discretionary awards to students who were not eligible to receive a mandatory award and 68,982 lesser value awards to students on non-advanced courses.
