HC Deb 24 February 1982 vol 18 c406W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether it is the policy of her Majesty's Government to support a reduction in the percentage of the total yearly International Development Association loan allocations that are given to India.

Mr. Luce

No.

Mr. Hooley

asked the the Lord Privy Seal by what amount, expressed both in dollars and as a percentage of the total allocation, the loans made to India by the World Bank's International Development Association have been reduced for the fiscal year 1982 as a result of the reduction in the planned total lending by the International Development Association in that fiscal year.

Mr. Luce

IDA does nor publish planning figures on a country basis. To offset the reduction in lending by IDA in its financial year 1982. some 800 million dollars additional lending on the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development terms will be made available to IDA borrowers which are sufficiently creditworthy. These will include India.
