Mr. Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) whether he will list the local authorities which have built dwellings by direct labour since 26 November 1980, naming the scheme in each case, the gross tender price, and the number of dwellings involved;

(2) whether any local authorities have undertaken the building of dwellings for sale by direct labour since 26 November 1980; and, if so, whether he will name the scheme in each case, the gross tender price and the number of dwellings involved.

[pursuant to his reply, 18 February 1982, c. 214]: The information requested is available for authorities in England for the period 27 November 1980 to 31 March 1981 and is as follows:

direct labour have been reported on the Department's half yearly voluntary inquiry on construction activity. About 80 per cent. of local authorities in England have replied to our inquiry and those reporting starts and completions for the period 1 April to 30 September 1981 have been as follows:
