§ Dr. BoysonThe Government do not publish separate projections of pupil to teacher ratios for the primary and secondary sectors, since it is for LEAs to deploy their teachers as they think best. The Government's plans for 1981–82, as embodied in the last public expenditure White Paper, Cmnd. 8175, allowed for an overall PTR in England of 18.8:1. Our plans for 1982–83 allow for an overall PTR of 18.6:1.
