§ Mr. Kenneth BakerA survey last year showed that some 30 per cent. of manufacturing companies are using or intending to use microelectronics in products and processes. While this is a considerable improvement over 5 per cent. in 1977, much remains to be done. If British industry does not use these new techniques it will decline. I certainly will be announcing further initiatives in IT year.
