§ Mr. HeseltineThe land economy directorate was abolished on 1 April 1981 when its remaining staff were formed into a division of the planning land use policy directorate. The staff concerned have been providing the Department with a wider range of estates advice, priority being given to land registers and inner city initiatives. The staff costs for the division for 1981–82 are estimated at about £147,000.
