§ Mr. Chapmanasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will clarify the arrangements for financing the forthcoming reductions in the scope of the petroleum, road transport and rubber and plastics processing industry training boards.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonThese changes will be financed on the same basis as the abolition of the 16 training boards announced by my right hon. Friend on 16 November and within the same planned provision. If boards' assets attributable to the sectors being taken out of scope are insufficient to meet operating and winding-up costs attributable to the sectors in 1982–83, the deficit will be met by the Government. The Manpower Services Commission will be discussing with the boards concerned how operating costs should be attributed and assets applied in each case.
