§ Mr. McCuskerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement about the negotiations taking place about a redeployment procedure for teachers affected by redundancy.
§ Mr. ScottThe general committee of the teachers negotiating machinery, which is a consultative committee representing teacher and management interests, has established a sub-committee to consider, amongst other things, the problems associated with teacher redeployment.
In addition the Department of Education intends to discuss with teacher organisations the implications of the document "Schools and Demographic Trends—A Backcloth to Planning" for the teaching profession. These discussions will include teacher redeployment.
