§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in view of the increasing frequency of offences such as the sexual assault on an 86-year-old widow in Wall Park Road, Sydenham, South London, who was robbed of £50 on Wednesday 3 February, he will make arrangements with the Commissioner to ensure that he is informed of all such cases and the occasions on which arrests and convictions occur, in order to monitor the effectiveness of policing in crimes of this kind.
§ Mr. MayhewNo; my right hon. Friend already keeps such matters under review through regular discussions with the Commissioner, the statistical information he provides and the reports of the force inspectorate.
