§ Mr. Masonasked the Secretary of State for Industry what is the Government's position on the changes in the European regional development fund as proposed by the European Commission.
§ Mr. MacGregorWhilst the Government endorse the principles that lie behind the proposed changes, they find some of the detailed proposals unwelcome, particularly that which would remove some of the United Kingdom's assisted areas from eligibility for aid from the quota section of the fund.
