HL Deb 15 February 1982 vol 427 c450WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What investigations are carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to ensure that projected benefits of an agricultural improvement scheme assisted with Government grants actually accrue once the scheme is completed.

Earl Ferrers

In most instances an applicant for grant meets the greater part of the expenditure and it is our policy to leave him to decide whether his investment is worthwhile.

House adjourned at one minute past nine o'clock.
