§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will direct the Director General of Fair Trading to investigate the justification for the proposed increases in the price of newspapers.
§ Mrs. Sally OppenheimI have no plans to refer these prices to the Director General under section 13 of the Competition Act 1980. I believe that fair competition among newspapers provides the best guarantee of value for money.
